Here are some baby bump pics finally!!! 

We have been trying to take a few pics here and there every week or so to be able to make a preggo belly book once the baby is born - but now that i'm around 12 weeks the baby bump is really making an appearance ! If you've ever been pregnant you know what I mean when I say , there is a weird period of time where you just look and feel fat and even if you know you're pregnant it just feels weird until you actually know that you're growing a human in there and the reason none of your pants fit anymore is in fact because you're pregnant and not just because you eat too much pizza... the confirmation is a good feeling!

Today was our first ultrasound where we got to see the baby and hear it's heart beat. It's a pretty insane moment when you can finally see the little squiggle you're growing in your belly is for real!!!

 That's the moment that you really feel pregnant & not just fat and realize there really is a little person in there sharing all your food...

Even if our kid still looks like a sea monkey blob - it's the most beautiful sea monkey on earth!!! <3

The Nutcracker In J.Crew

This past Saturday was my Dad's Birthday - we celebrated it by going to the Nutcracker at Foxwoods Casino with my family after a delish dinner at Alta Strada!

The day before our night of celebrations and family shindigs, Chris and I ventured out to Providence, RI and did a little Christmas shopping! While'st getting a lot of last minute stuff for family members, I picked up a few new pieces from J.Crew, Madewell & LOFT. 

This dress is from J.Crew - it's actually one of the few things that I own from their store! When we shop J.Crew it's usually mostly for Chris - but I was super psyched to have a new dress for the Nutcracker and my Dad's B-day celebrations the following day!

 I was drawn to this dress because of the length of the skirt (being 5'8' makes a lot of dresses way to short on me!) and the peter pan collar; just the perfect mix of classy, simple with a cute edge.

I chose to pair it with polka dot tights from ZARA (old) and my go-to ALLSAINTS boots.

This weekend was truly one of my favorite this Summer thus far! ~ Chris & I ventured 2 hours towards NYC to Stamford, CT (right near New Canaan, CT where I grew up!) to where one of my best and oldest friends and her husband live. We spent the weekend on the water, by the water, in the water & enjoying the waters' view all weekend!

On our way back to Mystic, CT Chris & I stopped by IKEA in New Haven and picked up some new goodies for our house & then went fishing with the Fiftal Fam & caught an outrageous about of Porgie/Porgy (sp?) fish!! We kept the huge suckers in which we are making fish nuggets out of tonight for dinner! There's nothing more satisfying than catching your own dinner! nom nom nommmm

As a long time fan of J.Crew's staple pieces - This Season especially, I have been noticing their array of good quality leather goods! I usually shop at J.Crew mostly for Chris, BUT with the new catalogue that just came out was filled with an edgier look to it (& also some must have leather pieces) I am inclined to do a little shopping myself!

The other night we went on a family boat ride (which we do quite offen since our family just got a new boat) and cruised up and down the Mystic river. It's absolutely one of my favorite places to be & live ; especially in the Summer!

My favorite & most functional outfit to wear when boating is :

- Jean shorts 

- Flip flops (these are Roxy)

- One of Chris' oversized sweatshirts or long sleeved shirts! (this one is from Jcrew) 

There's just something about wearing your boyfriend or husbands shirts that makes them extra comfy and always smells like them, which is the best!!! <3

It's funny when you like an object or symbol (or a few in my case) for as long as you can remember, and then all of a sudden it becomes part of a fashion trend and is all over the place!!! For me - anchors, zebras and pineapples have always been "my thing". I've been getting gifts related to all 3 of these since I was a kid! The anchor thing became Chris' & my thing even before we got matching anchor tattoos a couple years ago - but pineapples have always been my favorite fruit and as a kid I would always joke with my family and friends when they asked me what I wanted for my Bday or Xmas; I would always say "A PINEAPPLE!" haha , whoooo knows!! :-) 

But until this day, my love for pineapples (the fruit & the fashion icon) have only gotten stronger and more apparent ....

For Chris' & my wedding party next weekend we somehow came about making it a 

pineapple/nautical/anchor themed party! Haha, YAY! It's going to be pretty awesome.

Yesterday was an awesome half day of work for us and playing hookie wasn't so bad either! We woke up early, headed to the beach and roasted for 2 hours, went to work for a little while (10 min from beach) and then went on the boat, had oysters for dinner, went back on the boat for a bit, then had pizza. It was quite a day of good food, good drinks & most importantly, good people! <3
