With moving in to our new home we realized how much stuff we had in a small space - now spread out in to a bigger space, we're in need of some serious decor!

We went from an about 1,000 sq ft cottage to a 2,200 sq ft home with a 350 sq ft guest house - needless to say we need to fill in the gaps. 

Decorating and maintaining a beautiful home is probably my all time favorite and most rewarding part of my personal life that surrounds me on a daily basis. Theres nothing like coming home from work or anywhere for that matter to a space that makes you feel happy, comfortable, and really feels like a home & retreat where you cant wait to spend time.

 We have purchased quite a bit of new and vintage furniture for our new place, but decorating and maintaing a household is a forever, on-going and ever changing thing ! No matter how long I live in a place, there are always things to add and change around, which is what keeps things fun! 

Most weekends my husband Chris & I go prowling for treasures. "Treasuring hunting" is what we always call it. Any chance we get we head over to a few of our favorite vintage and up-cycled furniture stores to see what new gems we can score. Our house and decor style is definitely an eclectic mix of vintage, modern, farmhouse, industrial & whimsical!

When I want to find something specific (ie, in need of a shower curtain) I can always count on UO to have an even better version of what i'm looking for !

I picked up a hand full of goodies offline today from Urban to kick-start our new house's decor with a mix of what we already have. 

I can't wait to share some real photo's of the interior once we have painted !!!

30 Beautiful Years!

^ My Mom & Dad's wedding day 30 years ago! 

May 7th of this year was my Mom & Dads' 30th wedding anniversary!!...pretty big stuff, especially in the eyes of someone (myself) who has been married for 2 little months & has only been alive for almost 26 years! ...crazy. 

Chris & I spent the day with my parents with a bit of reminiscing, looking thru their old wedding album, and oogling over their super cute little wedding shrine covered in flowers that they set up every year on their anniversary. It's truly amazing and gives the universe hope that you can meet later in life (as my parents did, in their 30's) and be happily married for 30+ years! They are still so cute and unbelievably happy even when life is cruel with aging you, they spend every day together and are still best friends. I hope in 30 years from now Chris & I are half as in love and happy as they are, it's truly an inspiration and such a rare, beautiful thing. 

In honor of their celebrations, we went over to my parents house (5 min from our house in Mystic, CT) and shared a bottle of 20+ years aged magnum bottle of Veuve Clicquot with them & then had an amazing dinner out at one of our favorite restaurants, S&P Oyster in downtown Mystic. <3 

Such a lovely evening with such amazing parents!

Sam Edelman Booties...yes i wear these A LOT! I think it's time i get them in a few other colors. They are my favorite go to shoes these days.

Snake ring (gift from Chris!) and my vintage diamond band (from my Mom!) that I pretty much wear every day! The gold peace sign ring is from a vintage sale I found in Brooklyn a few years ago. I like to change up the ring I wear on top of my diamond band, but this is usually my staple right hand ring jewels!

The calm before the storm!

As you all know, today (Tuesday) is the day after Hurricane Sandy. We got super lucky here in Boston with being able to keep our power, but our home town of Mystic, CT isn't doing so well! There are tons of tree's down, ripped from the ground with roots and all that crushed cars, houses, took off roofs, and a severe amount of flooding all over the place! NOT GOOD.

This past weekend was great though! We had an awesome time with friends catching up and reuniting; we also celebrated Halloween a bit early which was hysterical and so much fun.

Our new apartment colors!

Our bedroom is either going to be "Newport Blue" or White because we have a lot of grey and blue furniture.

The living room is kind of connected to the kitchen, so you walk thru the kitchen to enter the living room so were doing the kitchen a "Cancun Sand" yellow and the living room a "Stable Hay" color which is more wheatie looking than the kitchens' yellow.

The office is going to be a "Sagey/Restful" green which will look awesome with this new modern greenish-yellow chair  we want to get from IKEA! (if it's comfy!)

&&& our bathroom will be our famous favorite "Mint Hint" which we paint something of some-sort everywhere we live! Like our current kitchen, bathroom & the Mystic shop are all currently a mint color as well! Love Love Love! <3

Very excited for TUESDAY when we are moving in to the new apartment and can start painting!! YAY!

These sunnies i bought at Target in the Spring, have legit been my go-to sunglasses all Summer! I love the shape of them, and they still haven't broken! YAY ME!

Cashew was veryyy sleepy, and never hesitates to make himself as comfy as possible.. <3

This Monday we totally played hookie from work (it's not real tough when you're working for yourself!) BUT we really needed it. We haven't seen sunshine & been at the beach since JUNE...i know, it's bad. We've been Sooooo busy and the second we have time off, it rains and isn't beach weather, go figure! So we took the day off and it was the most gorgeous beach day all Summer! Very Very worth it! :-)
