When you grow up in/live in New England, the necessities of surviving insane weather are :
1. Winter boots
2. A rain coat
3. A really warm Winter coat
4. Umbrella
5. Long underwear
6. Hat & gloves
7. Having more than 1 shovel .
The past few days have been ridiculoussssss. Nemo (aka. the snowpocalype of 2013) hit on Friday and has taken people DAYS to recover from. In Mystic, CT we got over 3ft of snow! About 38" were reported. That a LOT of snow!... about as tall as an elementary school kid. haha
Between Friday-Sunday we were snow scooping and shoveling our way out of our houses, it was crazy how deep the snow went when you stepped in to it. We could barely open our front door or even let Cashew out to go to the bathroom! He almost got lost so we put his warm blue coat on him so we could spot him from far away. haha
Today is Monday and it is rainy, rainy, rainy!! Which is my opinion is way worst than snow, even if it is warmer out. We got really lucky and didn't actually fully lose power, but a lot of our town did & restaurants are still just opening up today from the weekend of no power at all.
Above are some snap-shots we took during the before and after of shoveling ourselves and our cars out of the house and driveway!
Here is what I wore to brave the storm :
