SHOES :
I've always been one to start packing around 3 weeks before any trip. Call it anal or whatever, but I will literally lose sleep over not being über organized and having everything I need for a trip weeks before I leave! It usually takes about that long to make sure you have all the right clothing, shoes & accessories that can be worn multiple ways, multiple times!
I have concocted a fool-proof system of packing so that during our 2 week Euro-trip, each piece can be washed/dry cleaned at some point and worn again, but in a different way.
Above are my must have travel outfits & gear for my Euro-trip (besides the obvious socks & underwear type thing). Since the weather is approaching Autumn, as it is here... I have some dresses and skirts that can be worn with or without leggings, tights or knee socks, as well as shoes for every occasion (minus the new heels I plan on buying when we get to London!)
Euro-packing is soo different than packing for any other trip in my opinion! Mostly because I know it so well there, & the weather can be tricky!...& lets face it - the more black you pack, the quicker and easier you can throw clothes on in the morning & know for a fact that you will look great and put-together without trying too hard.
....When on vaca - that sounds good to me!
In Europe you walk around a lot, so having a good pair of sneakers is a must. It's truly unrealistic when bloggers & or anyone for that matter posts pictures of walking around Europe wearing pumps or sky high heels...you know they have ballet flats in their purse that they were actually wearing.
Packing for a trip, especially in the Fall is all about layering. It can be super warm and lovely all day and then the sun vanishes & it cools off a lot, you will definitely need a scarf & some sort of jacket &/or sweater.
Night time is always a lot chillier, so having the option for tights is important to be prepared! As much as I love heels (kind of, well i like the way they look, not the way they feel!) Paris especially has beautiful cobble stone streets, which makes it almost impossible to walk in anything that isn't a chunky heel. Hence my shoe choices above! ^^^
If/when we plan on going out for at least 1-2 fancy dinners while we're there that require some better footwear, all the more excuse to go buy a new pair of fancy feet/have your husband carry you places
:-)
I'm sure i'm forgetting a few obvious things, & will continue to update this post until we leave on MONDAY!
YAY EURO-MOON! <3
