Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is somewhere i hold dear to my heart. A good amount of my family lives over there and we try to make it every year to visit for a few weeks. It always goes by so fast! This trip we went for 9 days, which was one of the shortest times we've spent there. It's so beautiful and warm, but most importantly I get to spend time with my Aunt, Uncle, Cousins and their kids! They are the sweetest most amazing people in the world! My cousin Thierry Blouet owns one of the most unbelievable restaurants (he has a few!) Cafe Des Artistes is unreal! French cuisine to the extreme. The atmosphere is impeccable and the food is even more unbelievably good every year! I've been going there since i was a wee tiny kid. I love it more every time i go. SO many memories in Puerto Vallarta! <3
We went at the beginning of Feb, which now seems lightyears back considering we came back to RI to freezing and snow! EEEK!.. no thank you!. Hopefully this is our last Winter on the East Coast for a longgg time!. After Xmas time.. Winter can just save itself for next year. haha Anyways! About Mexico again, here are some of my favorite pictures that outlined our 9 days of relaxing. It was my Mom, Dad, Brother, Chris and I who visited this year.
1. There is a leather shop there that has been there since i can remember! My Dad always wants to go and buy "good quality leather belts", but now it's kind of turned in to tradition to go there and check out all the funky stuff. They have cowboy boots made out of every animal you could possibly think of...it's pretty gnarly. These are a bunch of tails! It reminded me of my MAYA LUNE fox tails! So i had to snap a pic of it, naturally.
2. The resort we stay at used to be called The Camino Real, (i liked it better then) but in the past 5 years got renamed and shnazzy'd up a bit and now is called The Dreams Resort & Spa . Its an unbelievably beautiful place that is all-inclusive with an ocean view no matter what room suite you stay in. They upgraded their pools and now have 4 or so, where as years ago they only had 1 or 2! This picture is in the private'ish infinity pool right outside our side of the hotel. It was so beautiful, i am going thru withdraws looking back at pictures for sure! haha
3. Chris and I on the resort beach. <3
4. At the market place on a side street they have all of these vendors selling all sorts of handmade things: bowls, dream catchers, hats, shot glasses, clothing, etc! (those are things we ended up coming home with.) In the middle of it all, there was this extraordinary tree i just wanted to climb or hang on to forever, it was so cool.
5. One of the many unreal sunsets we had in Mexico. Every night around the same time there was the most beautiful sunset that looked different every night. Chis and i sat on our balcony and drank champagne in our robes daily, it was truly magical. Sighh..
6. My parents and brother got a penthouse suite (which was unbelievable and 2 stories!) so this is Chris and I visiting them on the top floor of the penthouse, drinking champagne as per usual :-)
7/8. I'm not a huge fan of pink actually, but bright pink when your tan is one of my favorite looks! I got this dress at Old Navy which was such a super great find! Old Navy's designers these days are really stepping up their game and becoming a bit more with it. It's lovely!
ps- chris and i were so sunburned that night! haha ahh..aloeeee.
9. My hot tamale, Chris sitting in my cousins tree house (which isn't the type of tree house you are thinking of like when you were a kid) it's unbelievable!! and def for adults :-) haha
10. Chris' summer Sperry's! They're linen and light and go with everything. Thanks father Kevin (Chris' Dad) for giving them to Chris for Xmas this year, because i love them!
11. The walk of fame on the Malecon of Puerto Vallarta! My cousin Thierry has an award in there for being AWESOME and the best chef ever!!! YAY.
12. I'm blurry, but this picture is just preshhh. I <3 . My dress is from Express, its SO LONG which is hard for me to find since i'm 5'8 ! I was psyched.
13. Chris and I on our way home back to the US, sitting in our airplane seats. The plane was empty and we got free drinks on the way home. It was pretty epic.
