Ledyard Land

Yesterday we did some serious outdoors'y things ! First we went on a 2 mile walk at Haley Farm (our fave) and then assisted in chopping down some dead tree's and hauling lumber to a friends house from the Ledyard, CT land Chris' family owns. Its 60 acres of pure forrest and all sorts of stuff like a graveyard from the 1800's, a camp site we've been camping at for a few years and working on to make better and better & tons of things we have yet to discover! It's a great place to hike and get away from it all...it definitely feels like you are in the middle of nowhereeeeee, haha.
Our friend Jay also just recently built a very cool chicken coop and got some baby chicks that we visited! They're SO CUTE - i just want them to keep and make them stay babies...their little wings and fuzzy feathers are the cutest thing I have ever seen!
Chris & I always talk about when we have our own house that we want a chicken coop and our own chickens to lay fresh eggs, so it was pretty cool seeing it happen and be built from scratch. :-)

Did I mention I split a few pieces of wood with an axe and lifted just about my own body weight in logs?!...clearly i'm stronger than I look!! HAHA.
