Traveling Kid

....anddddd this is what I look like when I travel.
:-)

I've been asked a few times what the best clothes to travel in are - well, it depends where you are going!
In this case, this photo was from last week when we were on our way back from Mexico. I ALWAYS have a carryon of some sort with back-up clothes whether it be a bathing suit & jean shorts or an extra scarf or top layer of some sort of sweater.
Big scarves are the best travel accessorie ever invented - my Mom has taught me over time about the versatility and necessity of owning all sorts of scarves.
(she has an impressive/insane collection of scarves herself!)

My Mom used to be a PanAm flight attendant back in the day when it was super rad and fancy to work for the airlines! Because she never knew where she was going exactly, she learned how to pack for all and any type of weather with just using a few basic staple items in her suitcase. Hence where the scarf mania came in to play. A nice wide, thin scarf can be used for MANY things :

1. A bathing suit wrap
2. A blanket/shawl
3. Something to sit on
4. A head rest/pillow
5. A halter dress
6. To keep you warm
7. A over all accessory
8. A hair wrap
9. A skirt
10. A belt

When I travel I almost always wear leggings of some sort - they are stretchy, comfy, not restricting & can be worn in the warm and the cold!
- Always bring SOCKS. Airplanes/airports can be freezing!!...Even if you look like a crazy person with crazy socks on...just wear them. You ca take your shoes off on the plane and put your cozy socks on & I can guarantee you that you will be WAY warmer and more comfy on your trip!
- The key to travel clothes is LAYERS. You can always peel some layers off when you get to hot or if your destination is warm, and you can always layer on your layers when you get cold.
 It's common sense :-) !
